Package: Rescue Me!

Seasonal Focus:  Transitional/Spring

Your biggest struggles: Wearing the same combos over and over out of hesitation that new ones don't look quite right; Purchasing a piece without knowing how you will use it with your current wardrobe.

Based on your closet, I would describe the styles you are most comfortable in as: Chic

The chic style is characterised by being trendy and fashionable. It is a type of statement to make oneself look smart and striking. Well tailored stylish designs that are at the same time pretty and classy are characteristic of a chic style. Strong - but not extravagant - colours are favoured with perfectly matched accessories. The point of the chic style is that it is supposed to look casual but in a not so casual way.

General notes:

-I highly recommend new hangers, slim line. I like the ones at Bed, Bath and Beyond: SONGMICS Pack of 50 Gray ABS Plastic Hangers with Non-Slip Design

-Give yourself permission to shop for your body RIGHT NOW, especially for pants. Well fitting pants are important at all body stages!

-No more white!  You are good on white everything, except maybe a pair of white sandals.

-You are well stocked with blue/denim/navy toppers, however a light jean jacket would serve you well. It's easier to pair with other denims.

Ideas on how to make better shopping decisions:

1) Immediately play with what you buy. Make outfits, on your body, WITH SHOES. The shoe part if very important as if you don't have the right shoes, you won't wear it (unless you want to buy new shoes too!)

2) If you don't wear something new within 2 weeks, and it is the right weather to wear it, something isn't right.  Return it.

3) It's ok to get something that doesn't work with anything you already own BUT, purchase coordinating pieces at the same time.

4) If you own something similar ask yourself...would I choose this over what is already in my closet?  If yes, get rid of the item already at home. You will pick the new item every time, so why keep the old in your closet? Or, don't buy the new item in the first place.

5) Make a list each time you turn your closet over seasonally. What do you need? Knowing what you are looking for curtails impulse purchasing.

6) A pricey t shirt that you will wear all the time is not pricey-it's smart "price per wear" purchasing. Price is irrelevant (as long as you can afford it) if it fits you well and you would wear it in everyday life a lot! Example: We often spend good money on a dress we wear 1-3 time without a thought about it. Put the same good money in your core wardrobe pieces, even if they are simple or basic-you will wear them a ton more!

7) Consider garment care instructions. Will they hinder you from wearing it?

8) Consider the "fussiness" of an outfit or item. Does it require retucking or constant rearranging throughout the day?  If yes, are you ok with that or will this keep you from putting it on regularly?

Recommendations to shop for are:

*Solid color sleeveless tops to pair back to your navy, white, black toppers (which are plentiful), for easy color blocking.

*Prints for layering piece options. Prints grounded in all shades of pink or blue would pair well back to your current layering pieces

*A few muted toned prints or solid tops, for layering

*Olive pants that fit

*Crops that fit

*A navy based flat and/or fashion sneaker

*A new fashion sneaker just for fun! Navy, white, pinks, and blues-all safe bets to go with a lot of your current clothing.

*Another graphic tee (or two) for under your black blazer for that perfectly casual, yet chic, look you desire.

*A belt that is more gray/taupe based, to match the more gray booties and shoes (a different tone then your current two belts, but still neutral).

*Mid-range beige booties that have a sleeker heal then the current pair you own, which have a more sporty vibe

*Non-skinny jeans, but not wide-they don't fit your personal style.

*A while sandal

*A bone (neutral light cream) sandal

*A bone colored transitional flat that is neither cool toned, nor warm toned.
